JLOFTS Greenwich is home to families of all shapes and sizes, and we find there’s no better place to raise a family than Greenwich, CT! Here are some of our favorite neighborhood recommendations for families:

  1. Visit the Bruce Museum. This museum spotlights art, science, and natural history in more than a dozen exhibitions, and is just a short trip to downtown Greenwich, near the Greenwich Harbor. Children will delight in viewing artifacts and items related to anthropology, decorate arts, and fine arts. Purchase a family membership, as the exhibitions and events change throughout the year!
  2. Browse Diane’s Books. This bookstore at 8A Grigg Street has the largest selection of family books in the U.S. Take the family and spend the day browsing the shelves no matter what age you are! Each month Diane releases her own list of recommended titles for readers of all ages. There are also numerous authors that visit the bookstore throughout the year for book signings. Looking for a gift for that special child in your life? The store offers complimentary gift wrapping.
  3. Tour the LEO Zoological Conservation Center (http://www.leozoo.org/). A fun yet educational day awaits you and your children at this Greenwich-based, nonprofit breeding reserve for rare and endangered animals. Book a private, guided safari tour to learn more about some of the world’s rarest animals in a large, natural, and peaceful environment.
  4. Get a taste of history at the Bush-Holley House. The site of the first art colony in Connecticut, this is now the home of the Greenwich Historical Society. Tour the house with your children and visit two exhibits: one on about the era of the New Nation and one on the Cos Cob Art Colony. Take a walk around the grounds to view the historic buildings.

Take advantage of the numerous opportunities in Greenwich to spend quality time together with your children. You will make memories that will last a lifetime!
